Where Bloggers Create 2014

Where Bloggers Create 2014
              (scroll down for english version)

My Enchanted World
O meu mundo encantado / My enchanted world

For 6 years now, Karen Valentine from My Desert Cottage's blog, has been hosting annually the popular challenge "Where Bloggers Create" to bloggers interested in displaying their creative studios, thus revealing more details of their space where they give wings to their creativity.
For enthusiasts of handcrafts, this initiative is a true inspiration for the beauty, the creativity, the ingenuity and passion that each creative space is prepared, organized and decorated with.

Despite my absence, I have not stopped moving forward with the organization and decoration of my little corner. At this point, I am almost ready with it, lacking only a few details to finalize it. So, I thought this would be an excellent opportunity to share my space with the curious ones and to participate in this initiative which I have been following it for 2 years now, with which I am always dazzled to see some of the most beautiful and inspiring craft rooms. This is my first time participating!

Welcome to Sugarplum Crafty Corner!

Sugarplum
is the name of the color chosen by me to paint the walls of my craft room and it is the origin of the blog's name. To make the most of the small space, I thought it would be best to have the furniture around me, mostly from IKEA, and in the middle of the room one or two working desks. By doing a corner combination/solution with the shelves allowed me to gain more storage space.

I am in love with this my little corner, it is impossible to not feel good when I am there and I have now everything so organized, all available without having to waste time looking for the items that I need, I have now a workspace and a wrapping station, it has become something very practical and useful for me. Apart from that, now I am surrounded by all the things I like and that make me smile, like gifts made by friends, like fairies and unicorns, pandas, boxes, buttons, ribbons, fabrics, among many others in my enchanted world. Everything in my studio is a little bit of myself and I am happy to share it with you 。◕‿◕。

Whenever I enter the studio, I instinctively feel I am in an enchanted world, completely apart, a world of my own filled with lots of inspiration. I believe it is to surround ourselves with beautiful things that mean something to us or which we identify ourselves with, certainly will make us create beautiful things!

Do not forget to visit and be inspired by the other creative spaces that are participating in "Where Bloggers Create" at My Desert Cottage's blog! Thank you Karen for making this possible!

Craft Room: My Furniture

Craft Room: My Furniture

Craft Room Furniture: Wooden Window Box (After)

Craft Room Furniture: White Venetian Blind

After painting my craft room, the next step was to begin planning with great enthusiasm how I would like to furnish my enchanted world. Since I already had much of the furniture in the house, so I knew that the investment would be small and I would only need to buy two or three bookcases and a desk. The furniture in white would be the perfect touch to contrast with the lavender walls.

I was experimenting and moving the shelves around in the craft room, till I found the furniture layout that satisfied me more. As I wished to make the most of the small space, I thought it would be best to have the furniture around me and in the middle of the room one or two working desks. Making a corner combination/solution with the bookcases allowed me to gain more storage space.

Given that the room we are in the craft room comes in very low light anyway, I decided then to block half of the door, which gives access to the balcony, with a small bookcase and thus getting more useful space for the things I love.

When I painted the wooden window box with enamel paint, I had already in mind the white venetian blind that I was going to add on the balcony door. I immediately thought it would not be right to have a blind in one color and the wooden box in another. After hanging the blind, I was really happy with the choice I made!

Finally, I decided to set the table that I had at home in the center of the craft room and I realized that I still had room left for one more table. I measured the space that was still available to see the maximum measures that the new desk could have and I started the search for a new one. I had a specific idea of the table I wanted - a white desk with side shelves - and I found one that I liked very much with quite a few details in purple. Perfect for my craft room!

I ended up with two tables in my craft room: horizontally a working station very useful for wrapping gifts and vertically an essential desk to make my crafts.

I have now plenty of room for storing and organizing! 。◕‿◕。
